Every so often, here at Gigmann.com, we find a very special act that really hits the mark.

We’ve found one again…

Ladies and gentleman, let us introduce to you, EEVAH.

Featuring Halifax’s Singer/Songwriter, Nicole Hope Smith on vocals and piano and Richard McNamara of anthemic Indie Rock legend’s Embrace ( Yes, THE actual 90’s/00’s/Now Embrace!) on guitars and electronics, EEVAH began 2019 in the form of a classic electro pop duo.

Weaving etherial guitars and catchy pop hooks around junk shop synths and a dusty drum machine, the duo do not fail to impress.

‘Call Me When You’re Sober’ released April 3rd they say is the sound of Ferris Bueller lovingly beating you back to the future, with a keytar.

Already having had one single, ‘Can’t Breathe’, featured on Alan Raw’s BBC introducing show, they released their second single ‘Kill You Again’ in May and began honing their live show. In October they returned as a four piece, playing a taster of what’s to come, at Leeds Lending Room. Their next two singles ‘Digital Heart’ released on Nov 22nd & ‘Call Me When You’re Sober’ released April 3rd they say is the sound of Ferris Bueller lovingly beating you back to the future, with a keytar.

We are absolutely loving the new single, Call Me When Your Sober. The song shows off the duo’s songwriting strengths, mixing stunning melodic hooks, swooping dynamics and emotion that pulls at the heart strings. Soundwise, think a cross between Madonna’s 80’s classic, “Crazy For You”, Cindi Lauper’s “Time After Time” and Starship’s “Nothings Gone Stop Us Now” mixed with Sarah McLachlan -esque haunting vocals from Nicole. Mix all this together with a dose of modern electronic pop rock pizzaz and you have a classic pop song. In this case, simplicity is key. It’s all about letting the feelings and tune flow from the heart. Totes emosh!

The song was released Friday 3rd April. On it first day of release it hit over 2000 plays on Spotify! You can hear the full song HERE:

Their single, Digital Heart, has echo’s of Yazoo and Garbage. We could imagine it on the soundtrack to the original Karate Kid film from 1984!
