Luke is a 21 year old singer-songwriter from the North East of England whose engaging sound stems from a refreshing blend of soul, R&B and synth-pop influenced by artists such as Frank Ocean and Mac Miller. After discovering music as an outlet in his late teens Luke started creating bedroom demos, which helped develop his passion for songwriting. The last year has seen Luke in the studio developing his sound with up and coming Liverpool based producer Bob Mackenzie. With a range of tracks ready to release, the next year will be a fast paced launch for the career of Luke Royalty.

Music helped change who I am, to the point it has always felt a part of me.

Luke is set to release his debut single “October Seven” on Friday 14th August. October Seven will be the first single from a run of singles throughout the latter end of 2020 through to 2021.

Discovering music as an outlet in his late teens, Luke Royalty soon became hooked by the craft of songwriting and the culture surrounding music.

Talking about this period in his life Luke explains “There’s a musical side in my family so it was only a matter of time before I fell in love with it. It took a while, but the second I really discovered music, I became completely obsessed with it. Music helped change who I am, to the point it has always felt a part of me.”

The lyrics are an expression of indecisive feelings I faced towards the end of a failing relationship. I think everyone feels it during that uncertain period where you don’t want to part but it’s becoming more and more inevitable.

October Seven draws influence from the contemporary R&B styles of Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar whilst also maintaining 80s style production. Led by a guitar line you’ll be humming for days and a solid groove the track showcases Luke Royalty’s standout vocals and songwriting capabilities. Speaking about the track Luke states, “the lyrics are an expression of indecisive feelings I faced towards the end of a failing relationship. I think everyone feels it during that uncertain period where you don’t want to part but it’s becoming more and more inevitable.”

This run of single release will see Luke Royalty work with up and coming producer Bob Mackenzie, a partnership that will see the pair collaborate over numerous projects, and will cement Luke Royalty into one of the UK most exciting new artists. A follow up single entitled I could get used to this will be released in October and will see Luke collaborate with Manchester based rapper Sweets.
