Gigmann artist, Evie Moran is releasing her next single tomorrow and it’s a cracker!

Evie’s new single ‘Dream’ is set to be released to all major streaming platforms on March 18th.

“Delicate and vulnerable, ‘Dream’ is a personal account of a single dream and all its imagery.”

Delicate and vulnerable, ‘Dream’ is a personal account of a single dream and all its imagery.Retellings of scenes from the subconscious paint a white room and depict the intimacy of its occupants. With abstract lyrics and an almost meditative ambience, listeners are invited todelve deeper and interpret the narrative for themselves.

Over the turbulent year that followed the release of last single ‘All My Love’ in March 2020, Dream was developed in solitude from Evie’s family home in Liverpool. Working closely with dad Mike Moran, the pair were able to carefully craft and design the organic sound of the track and build up the arrangement over months in lockdown

Described by Getintothis as having ‘the voice to light up your life’, Evie Moran is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Liverpool. With delicate vocals and an intimate style, Evie’s stripped back sets often have the effect of quietening a room and captivating an audience.

“Writing this song felt like preserving a part of my subconscious. Every lyric has a very specific, personal meaning for me.”

Reflecting influences like Billie Marten and The Staves, her carefully crafted originals tell stories of love, dreams and nature. Evie has previously appeared at events including Folk on the Dock Festival, Threshold Festival and FOCUS Wales, and has received much support from BBC Introducing Merseyside. After graduating from LIPA Sixth Form College in 2020, Evie is now studying music at the University of Salford.

The new single lilts delicately like a silver flecked waterfall, airy piano stabs appear and disappear with backwards guitar teasing the ear. The song really does enter in to a dream like state, resulting in a beautiful sonic experience. It’s definitely one to listen to on headphones. We also think it has a female John Martyn-esque feel to it. It’s one classy song.

“Writing this song felt like preserving a part of my subconscious. Every lyric has a very specific, personal meaning for me. But I don’t think I’ll ever share that in too much detail. I prefer a more abstract approach to lyricism; I would much rather my words be open to interpretation.” (Evie Moran)
