James Bower grew up in small town Northern Ireland, where there was nothing for kids to do except drink in the park or put on gigs for their friends. James moved Glasgow for University and was inspired by the thriving music scene up there, particularly the folk/indie genre. He started going to open mics and gigging round the city, getting involved with a fantastic music community.

Follow University, he moved to Cardiff in 2015 to open a bakery with his sister-in-law. He started to gig around and was instantly welcomed by musicians, venues and promoters.

A smaller scene than Glasgow, James was able to receive much more support and began making an impression as a songwriter. He started gigging regularly around bars and festivals, hosting open mics across the city and working on releasing some music.

Following this, James put together a band of banjo, double bass, drums, flute and clarinet.
Growing up as a keen flute player himself, he incorporate woodwind into his sound. The band arranged all the parts and started working on thier first release.

Due to reasons surrounding covid, they decided to release a song every month or two instead of a full EP.

The band’s first single ‘Glow’ was recently released, which has been met with high praise.
Recent features for the song have bee on Adam Walton’s and Bethyn Elfyn’s shows on Radio Wales.

Their next single ‘Where There’s A Will, There’s A Way’ will be released at the end of the month.
