On March the 20th it will be two years since the much loved Isle of Man music promotor Jonno Gollow passed away.
To remember and pay tribute to him, last year, an employee of Aston International (where Jonno worked), Adrian Cowin and his team came up with an idea. On every 22nd March going forward, music lovers/workers around the island are being encouraged to wear their old (or current) music band tee shirt to work for the day.
Last year, with the help of local radio stations Manx Radio‘s promotion throughout several of their programmes, news articles and an interview with the Aston team, 3FM‘s promotion via their social media channels and on air mentions and Isle of Man Newspaper‘s Mike Wade giving exposure to the event in the local press, the event raised £1147 in Jonno’s memory. The money then went to local music service/charity, Soundcheck, which promotes and educates young musicians with how to record music and puts on live events.
2019 is the second year and Adrian and team hope to get more people involved. They aim to beat last years total and need your help!
If you would like to join in and encourage your workplace to take part, you can join and share the Facebook group and event page found HERE by click the links below:
Cost is £1 to enter per person and monies can be donated through their Just Giving page dedicated to the event, again, all monies going to Soundcheck. Click on the link below to join and donate:
We will also be digging out our old t-shirts and posting on our social media. If you want your pictures of you and your team wearing your tee shirts to be featured on our Facebook page and a future Gigmann.com article about the event, please email to gigmannpromotions@gmail.com or ping our Facebook page inbox.
